This album is utterly brilliant and is my new go-to as far as electronic music as a whole. I despair that I will find nothing else that will evoke the same emotions. It is hypnotic, intriguing and vivifying all at once. I have no idea how that was pulled off!

After having had so much fun with the newly acquired Cursus by Robert Reed, I remembered, that I still had this somewhere in the wishlist - and that DiN label boss Ian Boddy launched a timely restricted NYP campaign for this live collaboration with Nigel Mullaney. The album cover shows their setup for the event: Obviously a lot of equipment and a feast for friends of modular synths.

Artists associated with Dutch EM label Groove Unlimited continue to be the tip of the spear for Berlin School music in the 21st century. Gert Emmens’s latest album offers further evidence to justify that statement. Its big, almost orchestral sound brings to mind the classic EM albums by Jean-Michel Jarre in the 1970s. Amazing how Emmens has taken an ordinary, daily occurrence and turned it into an epic. Generously long (five tracks over 13 minutes!). Cinematic. And magical.
